Laser Vascular
Laser Vascular Services
Vascular lasers selectively target unwanted or abnormal blood vessels in the skin, while minimizing damage to surrounding normal skin structures.
How does it work?
Modern vascular lasers are very safe and effective when used by a professionally trained technician. They are generally more effective on the face than on other areas of the body, and multiple treatments may be required to achieve the best results.
What can be treated?
The vascular lasers can be used to treat broken capillaries or telangiectases, redness of the face and neck, Rosacea, spider naevi, cherry angiomas, and some leg veins.
How many treatments are needed?
Multiple treatments spaced apart over time are usually required to achieve the best results. Compression hose or socks are recommended following treatment on legs, and to avoid standing for prolonged periods of time as well as exercise.
What to expect?
Patients describe the treatment as feeling like a stinging sensation as the pulses of energy are delivered. To minimize discomfort, some services may require a numbing cream. Following the treatment, pain is minimal to non-existent. There can be an initial period of redness, swelling, stinging or bruising, which is always temporary and dissipates over time. Most people will recover over 48 hours. Most patients find that the treated area shows a significant improvement within 2-6 weeks of treatment. Your final results might not be apparent for several months.
