Pigmentation Removal

Laser Pigmentation Removal

Laser Pigmentation Removal works to safely and effectively reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation including acne scars, age spots, and sun spots.

How does it work?

The laser targets only the pigmented lesion in the skin which absorbs the light, without damaging the surrounding skin. The laser heats up and shatters the pigment. The pigment is then drawn to the surface without harming the surrounding tissue.

Once drawn to the surface, the pigmented lesions will temporarily darken and flake off, leaving the skin with an even tone and complexion.  Patients must avoid the sun 2 weeks before and after treatment.

How long does it take?

A typical Laser Pigmentation session lasts about 30 minutes. However, the length of a single treatment can vary depending on the size and color of a pigmented lesion.

How many treatments are needed?

The majority of common pigmented lesions can be eliminated completely with a single laser treatment. If the pigmentation does happen to reappear after several months or a year, it can retreat with similar results.
